How to Play UPF Slam

UPF Slam is a card game about ultra-processed foods and their nutritional values:

  • Each card represents a food item with ratings for Fats, Sugar, Protein, Sodium, and Additives
  • Higher numbers (% of daily value) are worse for health (except for Protein)
  • For Additives, Low risk is better than High risk
  • You and the computer will each draw a card
  • The winner of the previous round selects a nutritional category (you start first)
  • For Fats, Sugar, and Sodium: The player with the lower value wins
  • For Protein: The player with the higher value wins
  • For Additives: Low risk beats Medium risk, which beats High risk
  • The winner takes both cards
  • The player with all cards at the end wins the game
